Capital Tankers Corp, the tanker arm of Piraeus-based Capital Maritime & Trading Corp, reported a second-quarter net profit of $92.9 million, the company said. Capital Tankers forms part of the Capital Maritime group founded by Evangelos Marinakis, who serves as ultimate beneficial owner of the parent company, which incorporated the tanker unit in the Marshall Islands in January 2026. The company’s board includes Miltiadis Marinakis, described as a third-generation shipowner, while chief executive Gerasimos “Jerry” Kalogiratos brings more than two decades of shipping and finance experience to the role.
The company maintains its address at the Capital Building on Iasonos Street in Piraeus, combining a Greek ownership and management base with an international capital-markets presence through its Euronext Growth Oslo listing, where it began trading in March. Since listing, Capital Tankers has rapidly expanded its tanker fleet while maintaining a predominantly spot-market strategy, bringing its operational fleet to 15 vessels comprising one VLCC and six Suezmax tankers among other classes. With strong spot-market exposure, a young operating fleet and substantial newbuilding commitments, the company enters the second half of 2026 with significant momentum.
