Globus Maritime Limited, a dry bulk shipping company headquartered in Glyfada, Greece, announced that it has taken delivery of the M/V “Glbs Olympia,” a 2026-built Ultramax dry bulk carrier constructed at Nihon Shipyard Co in Japan. According to the company, the vessel was originally acquired under an order previously announced in August 2023, and it has a carrying capacity of approximately 64,000 DWT. The handover marks the fourth Ultramax newbuilding delivered to Globus from the Japanese shipbuilder, expanding the fleet to 10 dry bulk carriers.

Across the enlarged fleet, the company said total carrying capacity now reaches approximately 744,622 DWT, with a weighted average age of about eight years as of mid-September. Athanasios Feidakis, President and Chief Executive Officer of Globus, said the company remains committed to disciplined growth and the selective expansion of our fleet, while maintaining a prudent approach to capital allocation. The delivery follows a series of newbuilding handovers from Nihon Shipyard as part of the Greek-listed company’s ongoing fleet renewal and modernization program, which it says is focused on investing in high-quality, commercially competitive tonnage.
