All crew members were reported safe, but the strike underscores how the naval blockade the Houthis declared on Saudi shipping in July has moved from threat to sustained campaign.
Yanbu and nearby Red Sea ports have faced repeated disruption since the blockade was announced, with war-risk insurers already pricing voyages to southern Saudi ports at a premium after weeks of intermittent strikes. Shipowners calling at Saudi Red Sea terminals are increasingly weighing rerouting or accepting sharply higher insurance costs as the campaign continues.
