EU Spending on Russian Arctic LNG Surpasses Full 2025 Total in Just Eight Months
European Union countries have paid an estimated €7.28 billion for liquefied natural gas from Russia’s Yamal Arctic project between January and early September 2026, already exceeding the bloc’s full-year 2025 spending on the same trade.
